Safety First

Understanding the risks and difficulty

Difficulty Level: Moderate

Beginners

Doable for active beginners. Take breaks and pace yourself.

Intermediate

Comfortable hike. Good for a quick morning adventure.

Advanced

Easy run. Can be combined with exploring nearby caves.

Risk Factors

  • Slippery Rocks: The smooth rock surface becomes ice-like when wet. Avoid hiking during or immediately after heavy rain.
  • Dehydration: The dry zone heat is intense. Heat exhaustion is a real risk.
  • Wild Animals: There is a potential presence of wild elephants in the buffer zone, especially at dusk/dawn. Wasp attacks have also been reported rarely.
  • Steep Drops: The edges of the summit have no guard rails. Stay back from the edge (High winds common).

Emergency Advice

There are no permanent medical facilities on the mountain.

  • Inform someone about your hike time and return plan.
  • Carry a basic first aid kit (plasters, antiseptic, pain relievers).
  • In case of a serious injury, do not move the person unless in immediate danger.
  • Reach out to the nearest police station or temple for help in emergencies.
