Danigala is a pristine environment rich in history and biodiversity. It is our collective duty to protect it.
Waste Management
Establish a strict "Carry-in, Carry-out" policy. There are no trash bins on the trail or summit. Even biodegradable waste like fruit peels can attract wild animals and disrupt the ecosystem.
Noise Pollution
Keep noise levels to a minimum. Loud music helps no one. It disturbs the wildlife (including elephants) and ruins the experience for other hikers.
Respect Nature
Do not damage trees or plants. Do not remove rocks or artifacts. The geological formations and ancient ruins are protected.
Cultural Respect
Danigala has religious significance. Dress modestly. Be respectful around the ruins and caves that were once used by meditating monks.
"The earth does not belong to us: we belong to the earth."
